Fire Fighters from the Humboldt and Dawson Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a house fire in the 200 block of Nemaha Street in Humboldt early this (Thursday) morning.
According to Humboldt Fire Chief Rex Kapel, the fire call was received at about 7:30 a.m., and the fire was under control within an hour.
Kapel says there was significant damage to the home, but the one person who lived in the house was able to escape uninjured. Kapel says two dogs were injured.
The State Fire Marshal was called to investigate the cause of the fire, though Kapel says it’s “not suspicious” in nature.
