(KAIR) -- July 27th will be forever known as “Joe Tinker Day” in Kansas.
The proclamation, authored by Representative Randy Garber, was approved by members of the Kansas House Tuesday for the Muscotah native.
Tinker, born in Muscotah on that day in 1880, went on to play for the Chicago Cubs in the early 1900s and was part of the Cubs last World Series Champions in 1908 and eventually elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
The community is currently undergoing a project to construct a museum and replica of Wrigley Field in his honor.
