Auburn School Board Approves Budget with Lower Levy
09/10/2014

(KLZA)-- The Auburn Board of Education approved a $13.8-million budget when they met Monday.  The levy will be approximately three cents lower than last year at $1.0869 per $100 of assessed valuation.  The levy is expected to generate $5.6-million in tax revenue.

A 10.6 percent valuation increase was responsible for helping lower the levy.

The Auburn Board of Education also voted to increase the deductible for workman’s compensation insurance from $10,000 to $15,000.  That will result in a savings in excess of $5,000 in premiums.

Action was also approved to purchase closed captioning devices for the school district-owned State Theater at a cost of approximately $3,300.

A number of policies were also reviewed during the meeting.
