Nebraska sophomore Jordan Hooper earned one of five spots on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-Region 6 Team announced on Thursday.
Hooper, a 6-2 forward from Alliance, Neb., joined fellow first-team All-Big Ten performers Samantha Prahalis (Ohio State), Tayler Hill (Ohio State) and Alex Bentley (Penn State), and Green Bay's Julie Wojta on the all-region squad.
Hooper ranked third in the Big Ten in scoring and led the conference in rebounding, averaging 19.2 points and 9.3 rebounds per game for the 24-8 Huskers. She helped lead Nebraska to a final No. 17 national ranking by the Associated Press.
Hooper, who was the only sophomore on the All-Region 6 team, earned one of 52 spots nationally among the eight WBCA regions. Her first-team all-region status makes her eligible for 2012 WBCA All-America honors. Hooper was already one of 33 candidates for the Wade Trophy as the WBCA's National Player of the Year. She is also a Naismith Trophy candidate.
