Husker Softball Team Edges UNO
Senior Ashley Hagemann fired a four-hitter and the Husker offense scored twice in the fourth inning of a 2-1 win over UNO on a rainy Tuesday night at Bowlin Stadium.
The reigning Big Ten Pitcher of the Week, Hagemann allowed one earned run or less for the seventh straight start to lead Nebraska to its fifth win in a row. Hagemann (11-10) allowed four hits or less for the third straight start. She gave up only three singles and allowed just one run, while striking out 13, tying her season high and marking her third consecutive double-digit strikeout game.
Dana Elsasser (5-5) took the loss, allowing only one earned run in a complete-game effort.
Sophomore Taylor Edwards paced Nebraska's offense with a 2-for-3 day. Tatum Edwards and Guile added a double apiece, while Thomason and senior Madison Drake each had a single.
Nebraska returns to action on Friday, hosting Northwestern at 5 p.m. in the program's first-ever Big Ten Conference game.
