Normally, you do not think about having a nice day to play golf in March of any year. However, the Peru State College (PSC) Bobcat golf team matched the weather on its opening day of March 30 as they, too, were hot!
The Bobcat team defeated the visiting College of St. Mary 354 to 382 at the Table Creek Golf Course in Nebraska City. The 354 score was a new team record for Peru State.
Jordan Schaardt (Humboldt) was the medalist and shot an 84. Other golfer's scores figuring in on the total were Courtney Musgrave (Lincoln) – 85, Katie Potter (Omaha) – 87, and Ellen Larsen (Lincoln) – 98. Jacey Stoner (Alda) also played and shot a 114.
Bobcat coach Brett Hahn was pleased with the win. Hahn said, “We had perfect weather for the first competition of the spring season. The course was challenging with the high rough but the girls played great tee to green. They showed just how far we have come in a short amount of time. Jordan really came out and showed why she is the inaugural captain.”
