The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that 105 Division I Women's Golf student-athletes have been named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
Among the 105 was Jordan Schaardt (Humboldt) of Peru State College.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
Schaardt, an elementary education major, was the leader on the Bobcat golf team. As captain, Schaardt led the team to some record-setting team scores this year, which included a second-place team finish in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) tourney at the end of the season. In the HAAC meet, Schaardt finished third as an individual.
