Two Peru State College athletes have won weekly honors from the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
Sarah Williams, a senior from Hiawatha, was named the Conference Women’s Runner of the Week for the third week in a row. The honor comes after Williams finished first at the Dean White Invitational at Doane College last weekend.
Williams completed the 5-kilometer course in a time of 18:55 to win by 42-seconds. Williams will be considered for this week’s NAIA Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week award, which will be announced Tuesday.
Bobcat golfer Jordan Schaardt was selected as the HAAC Women’’s Golfer of the Week Monday afternoon, thanks to a 15th place finish in the Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational.
Schaardt had a two-day score of 169 after rounds of 84 and 85.
Schaardt is a senior from Humboldt.
