Pleasant Ridge Schools to Get New HVAC System
04/12/2012

Students at Pleasant Ridge High School will have a new central heat and air system to come back to when they return to school next fall.

The USD 449 School Board Wednesday night approved a 427 thousand 318 dollar bid from Nesbitt and Company to install a new HVAC system.

Superintendent Charles Coblentz says it was time to replace the system.

The contractor has until August 10th to complete the project.

The board also discussed the next stages of their successful bond election to renovate the elementary school.

Part of it may require a KDHE mandated expansion of the sewage lagoon.

However, the board heard results from a study conducted over spring break that the lagoon was more than sufficient to handle the classroom expansion and will recommend to KDHE to not require a lagoon expansion.

The board also gave approval to have three students graduate early from high school in December 2012.

They also accepted the resignations of Jennifer McGavran as high school Business instructor and Michaela Forge as high school social studies instructor effective the end of the school year.

They also accepted the retirement resignations of a school nurse and a custodian at the elementary school.
