(KAIR) -- There will be a new elementary and middle school principal at Jefferson County North this fall.
The USD 339 school board Monday night approved the hiring of Heather Renk.
Superintendent Denise Jennings says this will be Renk's first administrative position, as she was previously serving as an elementary-middle school Counselor in Salina.
The board also approved a federally mandated 10 cent increase to lunch prices for the district while breakfast prices will remain the same.
New prices for elementary school students will be two dollars and 25 cents, two 40 for middle school students and two 50 for high schoolers.
Other fees were approved for the year, all of which stayed flat.
However, Jennings says they have reinstated a 50 dollar a month Pre-School fee, plus transportation, after reducing it last year due to lower enrollment.
The board also gave Jennings the authorization to close out the fiscal year with one position being absorbed in the high school English department following a recent retirement.
