The motion to reduce bond is denied.
That follows the Brown County Courtroom request made by the defense for Matthew Hermreck, the 24-year-old Lancaster man accused of brutally beating a Horton woman, at her residence, on the night of May 2nd.
He’s currently held in the Brown County Jail on one-million-dollars bond, facing charges of Attempted First Degree Murder, Aggravated Endangering a Child, in connection to injuries suffered by the victim’s 3-year-old daughter, and Aggravated Burglary.
Court-appointed attorney Andy Delaney made the motion for the bond modification, only to have it shot down by the judge.
That happened Wednesday, with Delaney's request to continue the planned preliminary hearing for Hermreck granted by the judge. That is now continued until the afternoon of June 13th.
The victim has been undergoing hospitalized care in Kansas City, but at last check earlier this week, it was likely she would be released in coming days.
Meanwhile, an account is set up at the Pony Express Bank, located at 1505 Central Avenue, in Horton, to assist the victim with mounting medical bills.
