The Second Harvest Community Food Bank and the National Association of Letter Carriers are once again teaming up for the Stamp Out Hunger food drive.
This year’s Stamp Out Hunger drive will take place on Saturday, May 12th.
It’s easy for residents to take part. All individuals have to do is leave a bag of non-perishable food by their mailboxes and their letter carrier will make sure the food collected locally is delivered to local food pantries.
Stamp Out Hunger is the largest, single-day food drive in the United States. Last year, nearly 70.2 million pounds of food was collected by generous Americans. That marked the eight consecutive year that at least 70 million pounds of food was collected by the letter carriers. In our region nearly 40,000 pounds of food was collected
