The driver of one vehicle was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Falls City Thursday afternoon. The accident happened shortly before 5:00 p.m. at the intersection of 14th and Stone Street.
According to Falls City Police, 69-year-old Gary Powell of Rock Port was driving south on Stone Street, and had entered the intersection with 14th Street, when his car collided with a westbound car driven by Sherry Baumgartner of Falls City.
Powell told authorities at the scene that he was stopped at the stop sign and was looking at the Farmer’s Market in the library parking lot before he proceeded into the intersection. He said he did not see Baumgartner’s car in time to avoid the accident.
Gary Powell was transported by ambulance to Community Medical Center in Falls City with disabling injuries. No other injuries were reported.
