A Tarkio man was injured when he lost control of the pickup he was driving on a northwest Missouri highway Saturday evening. The Missouri State Patrol says 48-year-old Eric Mulvania was driving a 2009 Dodge pickup eastbound on U.S. Highway 136, at the intersection with N Avenue, two miles west of Tarkio, when the accident happened at 7:40 p.m. Saturday.
Officials say the pickup went off the south side of 136 and crossed N Avenue. The vehicle then struck a utility pole and began to overturn before striking a road sign and coming to rest on its wheels, facing north in the eastbound lane of Highway 136.
Mulvania, who was wearing a seatbelt, was taken by ambulance to the Fairfax Hospital with what were described as moderate injuries.
The Atchison County Sheriff’s Department, Rock Port Police Department, and Tarkio Fire Department assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
