Nemaha Central USD 115 will make no changes to their current transportation practices.
The current transportation practices were reviewed and discussed at length at this week’s school board meeting.
At question was the transportation of students who attend a private or parochial school.
The current practice for transporting those students is that they will be provided transportation if they are enrolled in 5th-8th grade band, have a sibling that attends Nemaha Valley High School, or reside along a regular route.
Following discussion, the board voted 6-1 to continue the past practice that was established this school year, and that a policy be written and adopted by the board that reflects the past practice. 
Board member Ilene Enneking cast the lone no vote.
Superintendent Darrel Kohlman also discussed transportation for those students who live out of the district.
The situation is addressed in a state statue known as the “ 10-mile rule”, wherein if a student lives more than 10 miles from his/her home district they may attend a district of choice.
The receiving district desiring to provide transportation to those students must make a request to the home district to enter their district.
It was the consensus of the board to continue this practice.
In other business, the board approved a 15-cent increase in lunch prices for next school year.
However, enrollment fees for students will remain the same for next school year.
And the USD 115 board approved a change in the dismissal time for students on the last day of school, next Wednesday.  Dismissal time will be noon instead of 3:05.
