American Legion Baseball:

Sabetha wins 3-1 over Tecumseh

Sabetha scored three runs in the sixth inning keyed by a Graham Droge two-run double to give Sabetha the lead. Sabetha tallied the final run on an infield hit by Brendon Garrett and a throwing error. Taylor Bauman pitched six innings allowing only an unearned run for the win. Kyle Stallbaumer pitched the final inning for the save.

Tecumseh's, Zach Kaster finished the game with 17 strikeouts in his six innings of work in the loss.

Sabetha is now 5-1 on the season and continues Legion play tonight with a Northeast Kansas League road matchup against Frankfort at 7:30pm.

 

Auburn defeats Doniphan County 7-6

Auburn earned the victory in the bottom of the seventh inning over Doniphan County as the winning run was brought home via a swinging bunt. Zach Halter finished the game 2-4 on the night with an RBI , while Sawyer Atkins was on base four times via a hit and three walks, he also scored a pair of runs. Jordan Thornberry was the unfortunate losing pitcher in the game giving up all seven runs, only five of which were earned.

Doniphan County with the loss falls to 0-4 on the season and continues Legion play in the Northeast Kansas League Tourney Thursday (May 31st) in Sabetha. Their first round matchup is against Frankfort at 6:00pm  it can be heard on 103.9 KNZA /92.1 KMZA.
