At their fiscal year close-out session, meal prices for the 2012-13 school year was the hot topic for the USD 377 school district.
In the end, the school board voted four to two Monday evening to increase meal rates by 10 cents across the board with board members Lee and Jolly voting nay.
School Superintendent Steve Wiseman explains why the board went above the federally mandated five cent increase in prices.

According to Wiseman, the fiscal year closed out pretty smoothly otherwise, and the board did extend contracts for Junior High Math and Reading teacher Stacy Honas, as well as Cody Sprang as K through 12 PE aide.
The board also continued their discussion on requiring uniforms for custodians.
Wiseman says their appearance holds great importance at the school.
