Last week an excessive heat advisory warning was in effect for several days in Atchison and throughout the region. 
 
Last week’s highest temperature in Atchison was 101 degrees. 
The temperatures will continue to be higher this week with an expected average high of 100 degrees and 102 this coming Saturday.
 
Brandi Folsom a manager at the Lion’s Pool shares her advice of how the public can protective themselves from the sun’s harmful rays.

With those rays, life guards must take precautionary actions against the high temperatures.
Folsom describes how the Lion’s Pool keeps their life guards in the best condition.

The pool averages 100 to 130 people a day.
They will continue extended hours until eight this evening.
