Falls City and Hiawatha Split Legion Doubleheader

 Falls City and Hiawatha split a doubleheader in American Legion Baseball action Thursday in Hiawatha.
 Game one saw Falls City outscore Hiawatha, 14-11.  Each team had a dozen hits in the game.  Chase Thompson had three hits and three RBIs for Falls City, and Wade Witt also collected three hits and drove in two runs.  Codie Witt had two hits and three RBIs. 
Derek Bippes was the winning pitcher for Falls City, while Dakota Bayles took the loss for Hiawatha.
 Hiawatha came back to win the second game, 7-4 in five innings.  Relief pitcher Kyle White shut out the Falls City offense after the second inning, as Hiawatha came back from a 4-1 deficit for the win.
 Hiawatha broke a 4-4 tie with three runs in the bottom of the 4th inning.  Quentin Overdick had two hits and three RBIs for Hiawatha.
 Falls City plays at Tecumseh Saturday, with games scheduled against Tecumseh and EMN.
