(KAIR) --The USD 377 school board has approved publication of their proposed 2012-13 budget.
A public hearing on the budget has been set for their August 13th board meeting at the district office in Effingham.
Superintendent Steve Wiseman is pleased with proposed budget, saying it lowers the mill levy.

Complete budget figures are available in a document at the school web site www.usd377.org, by clicking and scrolling through the July 23rd board agenda, then “Budget Document,” or in their school designated newspaper.
The board also Monday elected a new President, Bryan Jolly, and Vice-President, Steve Meeks.
In addition, the board had preliminary discussions on the future of the current wrestling building.
Wiseman says the long-term goal is to turn 2500-square- foot metal building into elementary classrooms.

Wiseman says the new additions would eliminate delays in the transition of junior high and high school usage of the locker rooms.
