Amelia Bridge Deck Pour Begins
09/24/2012

(KAIR) -- Beginning Monday, the Kansas Department of Transportation says crews began pouring concrete on the new Amelia Earhart Bridge at Atchison.

Due to time restrictions in pouring and setting the concrete, KDOT has requested the traffic signals along US-59 in Atchison be adjusted to accommodate the project.

According to Atchison City Manager Trey Cocking, several traffic signals along US-59 will be set to flashing red from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday night through Thursday, to ensure faster and safer bridge concrete placement.

The affected signals are located at 4th, 6th, 10th and 14th Street.
