(KAIR) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division, will hold its fall public meetings in six cities throughout the basin beginning October 29th to discuss the 2012-2013 Draft Annual Operating Plan for the Missouri River Mainstem Reservoir System.
Locally, the meeting will take place November 1st at the Holiday Inn Riverfront Hotel at 102 South Third Street in Saint. Joseph.
The public meeting will include a presentation from the Corps regarding 2012 operations and plans for operating the reservoir system in 2013 followed by a question and answer session.
There will also be an opportunity for members of the public and stakeholders to speak one-on-one with Corps officials within the one-hour time-frame prior to each meeting and following each meeting.
The 2012-2013 Draft Annual Operating Plan anticipates low, relatively stable runoff into the basin for the remainder of the 2012 calendar year and into early spring 2013.
As a result, the Corps expects system storage to come in below the base of the annual flood control pool at the start of the 2013 runoff season which begins on or around March 1.
