International Credit Union Day Thursday

(KAIR) -- On Thursday, credit union members around the world will celebrate International Credit Union Day, an event to commemorate the credit union movement’s impact and achievements.

Locally, River Cities Community Credit Union will be participating in the celebration.

Manager Bev McConaughey says there’s a distinct difference between credit unions and conventional banks.

To celebrate International Credit Union Day, River Cities will have an open house at their office at 625 Commercial St., Suite 6 in Atchison.

River Cities is celebrating fifty-five years of serving the Atchison community and has approximately 825 members.

The $2.4 million credit union and membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships or belongs to an organization in Atchison, Brown, Doniphan, Jackson, Jefferson or Leavenworth counties in Kansas.
