Support Shown for EDGE and CGB Project
11/12/2012

(KTNC) - A strong show of support for Falls City EDGE and Consolidated Grain and Barge.
A large contingent of local farmers and business people met Friday morning to show their support for the project that would bring a $23 million Consolidated Grain and Barge facility to Falls City.
The project has been hotly debated, and lawsuits have been filed in Richardson County District Court seek to stop progress on the project.  One lawsuit, filed by David Frederick, names the City of Falls City and EDGE, and seeks documents pertaining to the CGB project.
A second lawsuit, filed by Salem Grain, David Frederick, and William Lester, seeks to halt progress on CGB.
Andy Dunn is among those who came out Friday to support EDGE.  (play audio  :55   “higher prices.”)
Dunn says there were others who wanted to be there, but couldn’t make it Friday morning.  He says there’s a lot of support in the community for bringing C-G-B to Falls City.  (play audio   :23    “definitely a plus.”)
Dunn says the show of support came following a word-of-mouth campaign to gauge support for Consolidated Grain and Barge.
Dunn says EDGE Executive Director Beckie Cromer updated the group Friday on progress that continues to be made on the CGB project.
The next hearing in Frederick’s lawsuit against the city and EDGE is scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday) in Richardson County District Court.
