Atchison Co Historical Society Co-Founder Dies

(KAIR) -- The last surviving co-founder of the Atchison County Historical Society has died.

Robert Jacobson died Thursday in Atchison at the age of 75.

Jacobson was the curator of the Society from its inception until 1986.

An avid train fan, Jacobson was also the founder of the Northeast Kansas Railroad Club and Museum and is credited for having the Atchison Santa Fe Freight Depot saved for preservation.

Services for Jacobson will be at 11 Wednesday at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton funeral home.
