(KAIR) -- A rural Rushville family is without a home following a weekend fire.
According to Rushville Fire Chief Andrew Johnson, crews responded to the two-story home along Missouri Highway 116 east of Rushville just after seven Saturday morning fully engulfed in flames.
He says it took crews around two hours to get the fire under control.
The family, whose names are being withheld by the department, was able to escape the blaze unharmed, but the home was considered a total loss.
Johnson says citizens of Rushville and surrounding communities, including Atchison stepped up to help the family.
