Atchison Planning Comm. Approve Sign Ordinance Changes

(KAIR) -- In a 15 minute meeting of the Atchison Planning Commissioners Wednesday, three items were approved unanimously.

The first was revisions to an ordinance on signs for businesses.

This comes after workshops on revisions to the ordinance have taken place for the last seven months.

The item will now be forwarded to the city commissioners for consideration.

Commissioners also approved a conditional use permit for Dave Hausmann to turn a residence at 405 Parallel into a professional office.

Commissioners learned that office will be occupied by Andrew Werring, Attorney at Law.

Commissioners also approved a 12 foot setback variance for Northwest Pipe Company in an attempt to expand their business.

Gary Kearney, Junior was also nominated as Vice-Chair through July and at the end of the meeting, Planning Commissioner Dana Davis submitted a letter of resignation.

Davis cited taking a new job in Allentown, Pennsylvania as the reason for her resignation.
