( KNZA )-The city of Troy has been awarded a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant to help fund phase 2 of the city’s sanitary sewer system rehabilitation project.
The Kansas Department of Commerce announced the grant award.
The project will rehabilitate about 40-thousand linear feet of sewer lines. In addition, about 2-thousand linear feet of 8-inch and 10-inch sewer main will be replaced with new PVC pipe.
The project also includes manhole repairs.
Phase 1 of the project is to be completed sometime this spring and phase 2 could be completed by March 2015.
