Atchison Commissioners to Appoint New Planning Commissioner

(KAIR) -- Two Atchison citizens will vie for City Commissioners approval to the Planning Commission Monday evening.

Commissioners will decide at 4:30 at City Hall on who will replace Dana Davis, who resigned last month to take a job in Pennsylvania.

The citizens vying for the seat are Maur Hill Mount Academy Assistant Coach Sterling Jackson and D.J. Bruce, owner of Willies Sportsbar.

Commissioners will also look fill vacancy on the airport board, as well as authorize purchase for three police cruisers and a utility truck for the fire department.

The Atchison Planning Commission has also cancelled its February meeting.

Their next scheduled meeting will be March 6th.
