Atchison Seeks Approval for 2nd Round of Poly Cart Pilot

(KAIR) -- The City of Atchison will seek Commission approval Tuesday to the second round of purchases of 634 poly carts as part of the city’s trash and recycling overhaul.

Commissoners will decide at 4:30 at City Hall on the 34 thousand 145 dollar purchase.

The city implemented the pilot with 634 carts in various locations around the city in January.

Mayor Allen Reavis says he’s received various feedback from the first round of users.

Reavis says the next round is expected to cover all of Monday and most of Tuesday customers.

Commissioners will also hear an update on proposed improvements to the Heritage Conference Center.

They will also look to approve the 313 thousand dollar purchase agreement with UMB Bank for the joint voice over internet phone system with Atchison County and Atchison Hospital.
