(KAIR) -- Atchison City Commissioners this afternoon will look to approve a petition to annex property near the Amelia Earhart Airport into the city limits.
They will act on this at 4:30 at city hall.
City Manager Trey Cocking says this isn’t like a typical annexation.

From there, the County would determine if the property is in the growth path of any other city outside of Atchison prior to signing off on it.
Commissioners will also hear a presentation on construction of a statue of noted bricklayer William “Deafy” Bouler.
Commissioners will also learn information on the recent approval from KDOT to study 5th and 6th Street crosswalks.
