(KAIR) -- The Valley Falls school board has named its newest high school building addition after a man who helped manage its construction.
The board Monday night named the addition, which consists of the gym, classrooms and weight room, after Rex Kearney.
The project manager died last year after a battle with cancer.
The board also held preliminary discussions on cycling out older buses in their fleet.
Superintendent Loren Feldkamp says they are aiming for a four year purchasing schedule. (Play Audio)
The board is expected to act on the bus purchases at the May meeting.
Staff is also in the process of accepting bids to renovate the high school track and move bleachers in an effort to host junior high and select high school meets.
The board is expected to open bids in the May meeting.
