(KAIR) -- An Atchison County man faces multiple charges after several exotic animals were seized from his residence.
Atchison County Sheriff Jack Laurie says authorities and rescue crews were on the scene most of the day on Sunday.

Fifty-four year old Matthew Baker was cited with 10 counts in relation to the animal seizure, including two counts of animal cruelty and several other charges in relation to licensure and permits for the animals.
In addition, Baker was taken into custody on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with a law enforcement officer and disorderly conduct.
He remains in Atchison County Jail on 10 thousand dollars bond, awaiting formal charges.
Laurie says they were also assisted by Florida-based Big Cat Rescue in the transporting of six of the animals.
The rest of the animals, didn’t have to be put down and are going to be taken to Humane Society sanctuaries across the country.
