(KAIR) -- An Atchison man has been convicted of smuggling K2 into the Atchison County Jail.

Gabriel Walls pleaded guilty Friday in Atchison County District Court to trafficking contraband into a correctional facility as part of a plea deal.

In exchange, counts of distribution of K2 and possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed.

Walls was arrested by Atchison Police in late March for allegedly attempting to sell K2 to teenagers at the Atchison McDonald’s.

While in custody later that evening, he was caught by a jailer smoking the K2 in his cell with pages ripped from a Bible.

Authorities say he smuggled in the K2, Bible pages and a lighter during booking.

Walls also pleaded guilty Friday to a March 26th felony theft of money from A Touch of Class in Atchison.

Sentencing is set for June 24th.

He remains in the Atchison County Jail.
