(KAIR) -- An Atchison non-profit will host their 47th annual Scholarship Awards Banquet Saturday night.

Citizens for Community Action will host the banquet at the Heritage Conference Center, beginning at six.

The group originated from an organized effort in 1965 to get a citizen elected to the Atchison school board.

Group spokesperson Joann Murray says there are simple criteria that scholarship applicants must meet.
