(KTNC) - Low-to-moderate income residents of Pawnee County have a little more than a week to apply for Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation grants.
The program is aimed at helping those homeowners preserve the areas older housing stock. Homeowners can get financial assistance to help correct code deficiencies, improve energy conservation, fire protection, and make other minor improvements to their homes.
Southeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership is taking applications for the program through August 8th.
To qualify, applicants must own and occupy the home. Homes need to be single-family homes located within an incorporated community in Pawnee County.
Applicants also must meet income guidelines, based on family size. The income limits begin at $31,950 for a one-person household and increase to $60,200 for a family of eight.
Financial assistance will be provided through conditional grants, zero-percent deferred loans, and zero-percent direct loans, with the form of assistance determined by the household’s income.
Applicants who meet the basic eligibility guidelines will participate in an interview and preliminary inspection, so a review committee can prioritize projects.
To determine if you may be eligible for the program, or to request an application, call SENCA Housing Administrative Assistant Anita Kimpson at 402-862-2411, extension 114, or visit SENCA’s website, www.senca.org.
