(KMZA)--The Seneca City Council has approved an employee health insurance plan for 2014.
Mayor Joe Mitchell told the council Wednesday evening that the policy with Blue Cross and Blue Shield will only increase by 1.7 percent next year and recommended the council stay with the same plan they currently have.
The council voted to renew the policy, with a total annual premium of $111,621. The policy will renew on December 1st this year.
The city pay’s for 100 percent of an employee’s health insurance coverage, with an employee responsible for any coverage above that amount.
