The Falls City Rotary Club honored some of the top seniors from Falls City Sacred Heart and Falls City High School during the annual awards banquet Thursday night at the Richardson County Historical Museum.
Eight students were recognized: Kathryn Bieker and Jarod Fiegener from Sacred Heart and Kirstyn Buchholz, Mitchell Harling, Reese Hogue, Madison Olberding, Cody Schawang, and Brooke Scheitel from Falls City High School.
The Rotary Club presented scholarships to four students. The Rotary Scholarship was presented to Reese Hogue; the Nellie Ebel Memorial Scholarship to Mitchell Harling; the Louis Ebel Memorial Scholarship to Madison Olberding; and the Wilber Roesch Math Scholarship to Kirstyn Buchholz.
Peru State College President, Dr. Dan Hanson, was the guest speaker. In brief remarks, he told students to find something they’re passionate about, find meaning in serving others, and prepare to be surprised.
