(KLZA)-- Nebraska First District State Senator Dan Watermeier begins the third year of his first term representing Southeast Nebraska in the Nebraska Legislature.
The rural Syracuse resident says he will have some new duties beginning with the new legislative session. Watermeier ran for, and was successful in seeking the position of Vice-Chair of the Executive Committee. This committee manages the Legislative Council and determined which committee each bill is referred to and makes appointments to various task forces and commissions.
Watermeier will also be part of very busy Appropriations Committee which meets every afternoon of the week. The committee reviews budget requests and presents the budget recommendation for the full Legislature to review.
Senator Watermeier has a new office this year. His office is now on the second floor of the State Capital, room 2000, located on the north side of the building.
