MOUND CITY, Mo. - Bridge replacement projects on Route 111 and U.S. Highway 59 in Holt County have been delayed one week, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation. Route 111 will now close at the bridge over Kimsey Creek, two miles north of Forest City, on Monday, March 2, 2015. Motorists will be detoured over U.S. Highway 159, Interstate 29 and U.S. Highway 59. The closure will last approximately two and a half months.
U.S. Highway 59 over Squaw Creek is anticipated to close one week later, on or around March 9, 2015. Motorists will be detoured over I-29 at exits 92 at Craig and 84 at Mound City. U.S. Highway 59 will be closed for approximately two months.
All work is weather permitting and schedules are subject to change. MoDOT encourages all motorists to slow down, buckle up and drive safely to ensure everyone can Arrive Alive.
