The City of Auburn is now accepting applications through February 7th for the fourth round of funding for commercial rehabilitation projects in the City.
Funds are beginning to dwindle so if you are interested you need to apply as soon as possible for the remaining funds.
The goal of the downtown revitalization projects is to improve the appearances of downtown Auburn while meeting city code requirements and preserving the historic character of the area.
The program provides financing assistance for the design and construction of new or renovated buildings facades; provides financing assistance for building owners to meet city code requirements; supports the renovation and improvement of the exterior downtown buildings including tuck pointing, new windows and more.
Priorities of the plan should include structural integrity of commercial buildings; renovation and historic restoration of exteriors and assistance to comply with city code requirements.
Applications are available at City Hall in Auburn and you can also get information on the program from Derek Bargmann with the Southeast Nebraska Development District Office in Humboldt at 402-862-2201.
