That's Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse who says the grant funds will allow the upgrade of aging, obsolete dispatch equipment that otherwise could not be afforded(Play Audio :28 seconds)
Morse says a team commitment, and strong focus, is what made the third time of applying a charm(Play Audio :20 seconds)
The grant is specifically geared towards fire departments, and Morse says the efforts of a local Fire Chief, who decided to share the funds county wide, must be commended(Play Audio :30 seconds)
Money will also go to replace a generator system that supports the 911 Communications center during power outages, and provide a an overhaul to the emergency dispatch equipment expected to keep county residents safe for the next 20-years.
