Atchison Public Schools will remain on the list on a lawsuit against the state to try to obtain nearly 300 thousand dollars in funding owed for capital outlay projects.
The board could have decided to opt out during their special meeting today (Monday), but attending board members Ross, Newkirk, Sowers and Gwaltney, agreed to the non-action item.
The suit will be at no cost to the district.
Board Vice President Herb Gwaltney says they hope to be successful in the venture, and that the money would have a designated purpose.
