Atchison Man Pleads Not Guilty to Multiple Counts

(KAIR) -- A 22-year-old Atchison man faces a jury trial after pleading not guilty to multiple charges Monday in Atchison County District Court.

The prosecution will present their case against James Crawford September 11th.

He faces the charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, felony possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute, no drug tax stamp and misdemeanor charges of interference with a law enforcement officer, failure to report an accident and leaving the scene of an accident.

He was arrested after he allegedly ran from Atchison Police officers on two occasions following an accident investigation involving Crawford in early June.


A pre-trial conference is scheduled for August 27th.

Crawford remains in the Atchison County Jail on 40 thousand dollars bond.
