( KNZA )--An Oklahoma City, Oklahoma woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 24 highway in Jefferson County Tuesday morning.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 33-year-old Brandy Bell was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck about one mile east of the junction with K-4 highway, just east of Topeka. She was a passenger in a Chevy Suburban driven by 29-year-old Christopher Bell who was traveling west on U.S 24 in the left lane. The Patrol says another westbound vehicle traveling in the right lane, a Mercury Mountainer driven by 67-year-old Sandra Morris of Perry, struck the passenger side of the Bell vehicle causing it to spin into the median and roll 1 ½ times. Christopher Bell and three young children in his vehicle, all from Oklahoma City, escaped serious injury. All four were transported to a Topeka hospital to be checked over. Morris wasn’t hurt. The Patrol says all the occupants were wearing seat belts.
