(KAIR) -- Two weekend incidents at Atchison County Jail garner felony charges for two individuals.
According to Atchison County Undersheriff Larry Myer, the first occurred at three Saturday morning when 23-year-old Perry Perkins, who was an inmate at the jail on other charges, allegedly broke a sprinkler head in his cell, causing the cell pod to flood.
Perkins faces a felony charge of criminal damage to property after damages were estimated to be over one thousand dollars.
The second incident happened just after eight Saturday morning upon the booking of 32-year-old Atchison resident Leslie Liewer.
Liewer was arrested by Atchison Police on misdemeanor charges.
Myer says during a routine search, a deputy found vegetation believed to be marijuana on Liewer.
As a result, Liewer was booked on additional counts of bringing contraband into a correctional facility and possession of marijuana.
Both remain in jail awaiting bond and formal charges.
