(KAIR) -- In recognition of the demands and risks of the work performed by law enforcement officers and first responders, and the stressors and demands placed upon their families, Atchison United Methodist Church is hosting a special service of thanksgiving and blessing.
All law enforcement and first responder agencies, as well as agency staff in Atchison city and county, along with their families, are invited and encouraged to participate and attend in uniform.
The service will be held Sunday evening at seven in the church sanctuary at 501 Kansas Avenue.
Pastor Cynthia Meyer says this type of service is new to Atchison.

Any law enforcement officers or first responders who have not yet been contacted directly are encouraged to call the church at 367-1844 for more information.
There will be reserved seating for those being honored and their families.
The service is open to the public and all are welcome and encouraged to attend.
