Several Area Ks Communities Awarded Federal Grants

( KNZA )-Robinson, Onaga and Troy are among 27 Kansas communities that have been awarded federal grants through the Community Development Block Grant Program.

The Kansas Department of Commerce announced the grant awards.

Robinson has been awarded a $444,000 grant to repair sanitary sewer mains, service taps and manholes.  Nearly $545,000 in other funding will be used to match the grant.

Onaga has been awarded a $400,000 grant to reconstruct Prospect Street.   The city will provide about $160,000 for the project.

And Troy has been awarded a $400,000 grant to rehabilitate about 42-thousand linear feet of sanitary sewer lines.  The grant will be matched with nearly $2.8 million in other funding.
