(KAIR) -- Area businesses were hit all day Wednesday and even early Thursday morning with rushes in preparation for the winter storm.
At Atchison Country Mart, Store Manager Dennis Garrett says they ran low or out Wednesday on the typical essential storm food supplies.

Garrett says the store remained busy from their 6am open time until the storm hit.
For travel and snow removal, business has been steady for Carrigan Lumber in Atchison.

That’s co-owner Charlie Carrigan.
He expects supply sales to continue for days following the storm’s conclusion.
