02/22/2013

(KAIR) -- An Atchison teen has pled guilty to multiple charges, including counterfeiting related charges as part of a plea deal Friday in Atchison County District Court.

Keante Green pled guilty to two felony making false information counts, as well as a misdemeanor possession of marijuana charge.

In exchange, a count of no drug tax stamp was dismissed.

County Attorney Gerald Kuckelman says in Kansas, any false document, such as cash, check, title, etcetera, is classified as false information, a level eight felony.

Green and a juvenile were arrested in early December by Atchison Police after incidents where Green passed a fake 100 dollar bill at a local grocery store and attempted to pass counterfeit money at a local restaurant.

Following stoppage by police, several counterfeit 100 dollar bills and marijuana were found.
